The monument was unveiled on August 24, 2017 — the day marking the 105th anniversary of the birth of Academician Shafik Shaikenovich Chokin 1912–1995.The opening ceremony took place as part of the state program “Rukhani Zhangyru” (“Spiritual Modernization”). The authors are sculptors K. Zharylgapov and M. Azmagambetov.
