Beshatyr Kurgans

The Beshatyr Kurgans are a major archaeological site in the Almaty Region of Kazakhstan. The complex includes more than 30 ancient burial mounds dating back to the 5th–4th centuries BC. It is one of the most significant Saka (Scythian) culture burial sites in Kazakhstan. The kurgans are located in the picturesque valley of the Ili River.
