The Umar ibn al-Khattab Mosque is the largest mosque in Kazakhstan. Construction of the mosque began in 1999, and its official opening took place in 2022. The building is designed in a traditional Islamic architectural style with elements of Kazakh national ornamentation. The total area of the complex exceeds 18 hectares, and the main prayer hall can accommodate more than 7,000 people.
