Main Botanical Garden of Almaty

The Main Botanical Garden of Almaty was founded in 1932 as a scientific research institution. The original area of the garden was 108 hectares; currently, it covers 103.6 hectares. The garden is part of the Republican State Enterprise “Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction” and has the status of a specially protected natural area.
