Republic Square

Republic Square is the main square of Almaty. It was laid out in the 1970s and until the 1990s was known as Lenin Square. The square occupies a significant area in the central part of the city and serves as an important public and administrative space. State holidays, parades, concerts, and mass events are regularly held here.
