Monument to M.O. Auezov

The monument to the prominent Kazakh writer, playwright, and academic Mukhtar Omarkhanovich Auezov is located in Almaty, situated on the square facing the Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theatre. The monument was officially unveiled in 1980 to commemorate the writer's birth anniversary. The sculpture was created by the renowned Soviet and Kazakh sculptor Yerkesh Sergeyev, while the architectural design was developed by O. Balykbaev and T. Eraliev.
