The National Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty is one of the oldest and largest museums in Central Asia. Its history dates back to the 1830s, with the official opening taking place in 1931. In 2025, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev awarded the museum the honorary status of “National.” Today, the museum is housed in a modern building in the Samal-1 district at 44, constructed in 1985. The total area of the complex exceeds 17,000 square meters, with a significant portion dedicated to exhibition halls across three floors.
