The Monument to Abai Kunanbaev

The Monument to Abai Kunanbaev — A monumental object in Almaty dedicated to the great Kazakh poet, philosopher, and educator. The history of the monument began in the middle of the twentieth century, when as part of the improvement of the central square of the city, it was decided to perpetuate the memory of the thinker. The grand opening of the monument took place in nineteen sixty. The author of the sculpture was the famous Soviet artist Khakimzhan Nauryzbaev.
