Medeo Sports Complex
Medeo Gorge (or Medeo Tract) is a territory located in the valley of the Malaya Almatinka River, in the foothills of the Zailiysky Alatau ridge, at an altitude of 1520–1750 meters above sea level, 14 km from Almaty.

The Medeo Sports Complex is located in the picturesque Medeo Gorge, at an altitude of 1,691 meters above sea level, 18 kilometers from Almaty, in the foothills of the Zailiysky Alatau mountains. It is one of the most famous symbols of the city and the world’s largest high-mountain skating rink with artificial ice. The ice surface covers 10,500 square meters. Thanks to the rarefied mountain air and pure water, unique conditions for speed skating are created here.
