The Monument to T.G. Shevchenko

The Monument to T.G. Shevchenko — In Almaty, this monument is dedicated to the Ukrainian poet, writer, and artist Taras Grigorievich Shevchenko. The monument was officially unveiled on August 30, 2000, as part of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of his exile to Kazakhstan. The author of the sculptural composition is the Ukrainian master Vitaliy Rozhyk, who depicted the thinker in adulthood holding a book, conveying a strict academic image.
