Tengri-Umai Contemporary Art Gallery

Tengri-Umai Contemporary Art Gallery is one of the first private galleries in Kazakhstan, opened in the early 1990s in Almaty. It became a true pioneer in promoting contemporary Kazakhstani and Central Asian art, introducing bright artists to the general public and supporting new trends. The name “Tengri-Umai” refers to the ancient Turkic deities of Heaven and Mother Earth, symbolizing the connection between tradition and modernity.
