Baum Grove

Baum Grove is one of the oldest and largest forest areas within the city limits of Almaty. It was established in 1894 on the initiative of forester Eduard Ottonovich Baum. Initially, the grove was created as a protective forest belt and nursery for regional landscaping. The area of the grove exceeds 130 hectares.
