Monument of Independence

Monument of Independence — A prominent architectural and sculptural complex in Almaty, symbolizing the sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the key stages of its state history. The history of this large-scale object began in 1996, when, on the initiative of the country's leadership, a memorial was erected on the main square of the city to honor the fifth anniversary of the declaration of independence. The author and leader of the creative team was the architect Shot-Aman Valikhanov.
