The Golden Square

The Golden Square — A historically established cultural, geographical, and prestigious residential area in Almaty, characterized by a high concentration of iconic architectural objects and green spaces. The history of this sector began in the 1930s–1950s, when this territory was developed as the administrative and intellectual center of the capital of the Kazakh SSR. Houses were built here for representatives of the Soviet nomenklatura, prominent figures in science, art and literature.
