The Orken Studio Theater in Almaty was founded in 2009 as a youth theater and quickly became a true sprout of new creative culture in the garden city. The name “Orken” means “sprout” or “growth,” and from the very beginning the studio positioned itself as an open space for bold experiments, where unconventional productions and vivid performances were born. Initially, the theater had its own troupe, but today Orken successfully operates as a popular rental venue where independent companies perform, including the well-known Interius Theater directed by Raziya Hasanova.
