The Atameken Ethno-Memorial Complex is located in Astana and officially opened on September 8, 2001. Covering approximately 1.7 hectares, the museum presents a scaled map of Kazakhstan where natural landscapes, historical monuments, architectural landmarks, and modern structures are brought together in a single open-air exhibition. It was conceived as a visual encyclopedia of the country.
