The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is located in Almaty's Karasu neighborhood. The project was initiated by local Orthodox residents in 2004, land was allocated in 2006, and the foundation stone was laid on September 27, 2008, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
