Monument to Kazakhstani Soldiers Who Died in Afghanistan
A memorial in the Park of the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen, unveiled in 2003 to honor Kazakhstani servicemen who lost their lives during the war in Afghanistan and other military conflicts.

The monument stands in the Park of the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen near the Memorial of Glory. Created from bronze, granite, and concrete, it depicts three soldiers: two standing behind a seated serviceman with his head bowed. The memorial also bears the names of Almaty residents who lost their lives during the Afghan War.
