Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park

The Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park was established in 1996 to protect the unique nature of the Northern Tien Shan. It is located south of Almaty, on the slopes of the Zailiysky Alatau ridge, and covers an area of about 200,000 hectares. The park stretches from 600 to nearly 5,000 meters above sea level.
