The Central Mosque of Almaty is the largest mosque in Kazakhstan. Construction began in 1999, and the official opening took place in 2022. The building is designed in a traditional Islamic style with elements of Kazakh national ornamentation. The total area of the complex exceeds 18 hectares, and the main prayer hall can accommodate more than 7,000 people.
