St. Sophia Cathedral stands on Latif Khamidi Street within the Iversky-Seraphim Women's Monastery and serves as its spiritual center. Built in the traditional Russian Orthodox style, the wooden cathedral features elegant domes, tented roofs, and richly decorated interiors. Today it is one of Almaty's principal Orthodox landmarks.
