Kok-Zhailau
A scenic mountain plateau within Ile-Alatau National Park, whose name translates as "Green Pasture." Kok-Zhailau is famous for its alpine meadows, panoramic views of the Trans-Ili Alatau and Almaty, and is one of the region's most popular hiking destinations.

Kok Zhailau translates from Kazakh as “Green Pasture” or “Blue Summer Pasture”. It is a picturesque high-mountain plateau located between the Small and Big Almaty Gorges within the Ile-Alatau State National Nature Park. The altitude of the plateau ranges from 1,450 to 2,200 meters above sea level. Being only about 10 kilometers from Almaty, Kok Zhailau has become one of the most popular and accessible recreation spots for city residents.
