Almaty Museum of Arts (ALMA) is the first private museum of contemporary art in Central Asia.
Райымбек батыр (1705–1785) Национальный герой, полководец, один из самых известных батыров Казахстана XVIII века. Участвовал в войнах казахского народа против джунгарских захватчиков. Ещё в юности проявил храбрость и талант военачальника, в народной памяти остался как защитник Отечества и символ мужества. Народ считал его не только воином, но и человеком, обладавшим духовной силой и благословением. В Алматы установлен величественный памятник Райымбеку, его имя носит один из центральных проспектов города.
